Description

Custom Printed Receipt Book

A receipt book gives your customer proof of payment and keeps a matching copy for your own records, which is why traders taking cash still need one even when the card machine is doing most of the work. Market stalls, mobile therapists, tutors, landlords collecting rent, tradesmen taking a deposit on the doorstep: any payment made away from a till needs a written receipt, and HMRC expects you to hold the record for six years.

Our personalised receipt books are printed in full colour on genuine NCR paper, so writing on the top sheet copies straight through to the yellow sheet beneath. Choose A6 or A5, and we print your logo, business name and contact details onto every set — with free sequential numbering so no receipt can go missing unnoticed.

Free design service for custom receipt book

If you don’t have a ready-to-print design, we’ve got you covered! We offer a free design service based on our professional templates (logo design not included). We will design your receipt books to reflect your business identity. A free digital proof will be sent for each order. If you need to bill before you take payment, see our personalised invoice books.

About binding

Our receipt pads are professionally glued and stapled. The sheets feature top perforation, but we can glue them if that’s your preference. Just let us know!

Free sequential numbering

We offer free sequential numbering. Just inform us how you’d like them numbered, and we’ll take care of it.

How to prevent copy bleed-through

Each pad includes a white 400gsm board to place between sets, preventing unwanted copying onto the next set.

Receipt book FAQs

What information should be on a receipt?

A valid receipt shows the date, your business name and contact details, what was paid for, the amount, and how it was paid. If you’re VAT registered you also need your VAT number and the VAT amount shown separately. A sequential receipt number makes the record traceable, which is why we number ours free of charge.

How long do I need to keep copies of receipts?

HMRC requires sole traders and partnerships to keep business records for at least five years after the 31 January self-assessment deadline for that tax year. Limited companies must keep records for six years from the end of the accounting period. Keeping the duplicate copy in the book is the simplest way to satisfy this — the yellow sheet stays bound in date order.

What’s the difference between a receipt book and an invoice book?

A receipt confirms money has already been paid. An invoice requests payment that is still owed. Most trades need both: an invoice at the point of work, a receipt when the customer settles. If you take payment on completion, a receipt book on its own is usually enough.

Can I have my logo printed on every page?

Yes. Your logo, business name, address and contact details are printed in full colour on both the white top sheet and the yellow copy, at no extra cost. Send us your artwork or use our free design service, and we’ll email a digital proof before anything goes to print.

Also popular with tradesmen: estimate and quote books for pricing work before it starts, and duty of care waste transfer notes for licensed waste carriers.
